Well this is pretty huge imo :)

The BBC is to screen this summer's football World Cup and Wimbledon championships in High-definition television (HDTV).

The trial run of the service will include the BBC's share of World Cup matches and key Wimbledon ties in June.

The corporation is trying out HDTV for up to a year, starting in mid-May.

yeah, was announced a while ago im sure, all the more reason for me to move house and get a nice HD TV :D:D

Mr Mosey stressed that the trial would only be available to a selected group of viewers, but hoped it would prove to be "a glimpse of the future".
Only good if they select you for the trial I guess...

Just reading a thread about this on avforums, it seems as though people with sky hd or a tv drive should be able to get this in HD, as soon as that's set in stone I will be ordering a TV drive

Wow, i've been praying for this since I got my HDTV, never thought it would happen tbh. Whats all this Tv drive business then? Off to google I go..
