I have been thinking of starting playing this for while but before that I would like to know why this game is so addictive. I heard some stories about people leaving things to play this game. I just can't understand why they would do such a thing.

All MMOs are addictive to a certain degree, one thing to remember (about MMOs in general) is that they are not designed purely for entertainment, they are designed to keep a person playing for as long as possible to generate as much money as possible, its why so many MMOs have elements within them which are designed to hook a player and keep them hooked.
