china would kick america's ass back to the dark ages in a military conflict. They couldn't handle a few jungle boys back in Nam so I highly doubt they would be capable of taking on the authoritarian might of the Chinese Peoples Military forces

Nuclear weapons mean both would be ****ed.

Joint EU Military? Well we have a deal with the French to use their Aircraft Carriers. I don't believe the EU has a joint military though.

"Joint EU Military" is a polite way of saying we'll use the EU as a meat shield

That's sort of like saying if you gave every man in Africa an SKS rifle, you would have an invincible army.
