World War III

Not long after China's Twelfth Five-Year Guideline we will probably see the Yaun increase in value and become the new world currency. China will control America, they will not like it and then game over.
Actualy America have China by the balls, and if they really wanted they can crush them financially.
Chinas biggest export to America are computers and parts, where do you think China gets the materials to make these things? they import from America.
They import all of their major supplies from America (just like the rest of of economicaly growing world), including a lot of food, metals, organics, etc. Then the big American companies like MacD's and starbucks set up shop in China to keep the money rolling in back home.
If America simply took their business elsewhere (or just stuck with supplying themselves), China will come crashing down because no other country can keep up with this kind of demand China have for supplies.

As long as America continue as the worlds biggest suppliers, the US$ will stay the currency for a long time to come.

Much of those computer parts are made from rare earth minerals. Guess where 97% of the world's rare earth mineral supply is.

The point still stands that China and the US are too reliant on each other to start any meaningful conflict. It's not like how it was 60-70 years ago anymore. We didn't need or rely on each other back then, but we do now. Our advances as mankind depend on us playing nice with each other.

I think in all honesty that if the 3rd world war is going to take place it will be by one way or another caused by North Korea. It's one of the least stable countries when it comes to international relations.

And don't forget that they posses the nuclear assets with which they might annihilate the life on the planet (no necessarily directly, they might start the nuclear exchange). I'm not afraid of china invading because as they may be developing their military they would simply have no interest in invading US, if they did invade any country (for whatever reason, they would really have to be pushed to the wall and desperate for this kind of step) it would most probably be one of the neighboring countries on the Asian continent which in drastic circumstances may even include Russia (now that would be a plotline for a new game :) ) but that's not a "world war" any more.

A World War will not initiate over North Korea. NK are desperately short on resources and funding- I have read that there have been reported instances where their soldiers have been without socks! That's how badly equipped they are.
