World's Richest Man is Mexican

Carlos Slim Helu the founder of Telmex is the current richest man in the world, after overtaking IT mogul & Microsoft founder Bill Gates by a cool $US8.6 billion.

According to Forbes, Carlos a telecom heavy weight from Mexico was just trailing behind Gates in the No.2 spot in April 2007.

His total worth is estimated at US$67.8 billion.

I've heard somewhere that Bill Gates has donated more than half of his wealth to charity since he started donating? Good on him!

Bill Gates is the only person to ever break the $100 billion mark, to the best of my knowledge. Soon after, the US Govt. pounced on him with "You are too rich." and he is suddenly a born again philanthropist.. funny that.
