Well as fuel cells are becoming more and more affordable this isnt too far into the future, the thing is creating a efficient enough electrolysis process to compliment this.
They only travel something like 100 yards before they need a recharge - which is pretty impressive in real terms technology wise, but terribly impractical as a toy.
