Worried about your expensive phones?

lots of hero's in this thread, i wonder how they would react when a knife was pulled on them?

rip his arms off them back hand him with his own hands.

hardly anyone here is saying they would **** people up in this situation, just pointing out their size.
You are aware that size has a big impact on how you are viewed in terms of how vulnerable you are, right?

This. Most people with a bit of sense would probably just hand their phone over. Not to mention, the person trying to rob you could be just as big, if not bigger than you.

Doesn't matter how big you are, if some smackhead with a knife wants his daily fix then he'll do anything to have that phone off you.

When I lived in South London (Brixton and Camberwell), then I wouldn't have taken my phone out to text etc in public. Always had insurance on my phone, and in three years of going out late and coming back drunk etc only got robbed for my phone once. :o :(

Do people have a quick look around before taking they're phone out to use in some public places? I just ask as... some of the the smart phones out these days are seriously expensive. I personally know one or two people (not proud of it) who wouldn't think twice about knocking you out (and have done) just for a nice phone. Suppose the same think goes for quality watches and the like but phones are an easier touch I'd say.

I'm not a big mobile user (I use a Samsung E1080 so not to worried) but wouldn't walk about town talking away on an iPhone 4 or similar like the world was a crime free place where people wouldn't think of such a thing. Maybe I just live in a dodgy area?

Well I don't have a smart phone but, if/when I do then I'll be as paranoid as can be out here ;) small crimes like this are extremely high here and it's very likely to have your phone taken from you when you are on the bus/underground or of course in the street, even now I'm a little paranoid sometimes depending on where I am, But, most of the times I don't really care right now and I certainly wouldn't fights for my phone.

^ There're just pointing out a smackhead is more likely to target someone old and defenceless.

Exactly.

How many old people do you see with a £600 smartphone?

Quite a lot have smart phones, or what could be classed as a smart phone. Not all are expensive but most look the same in terms of huge touch screen. from a distance that could be a htc wildfire or a iphone4.

Me. I'm saying that. I'd literally **** someone up if the stupid **** thought they could **** take my **** phone. I'd **** and **** , ****, **** with abit of ****. Then I'd take out my **** and use that as a ****.

I don't know of one old person who has a smart phone, actually I have never seen an old person with one, period. Sure there might be loads out there but it's rare. I'm pretty certain most old people want a cheap phone that works with none of the gimmicks.

What I'm saying is that there are many many more young people with these more expensive smart phones than older people, therefore increasing the chances of them being mugged over an old person.

Old people are mugged for their money not for their smart phones.

They are just locked eventually. All that hard earned down the drain! that is if you earnt the money you bought the phone with.
