Hi guys

As there isn’t a health and well-being section I didn’t know where else to post this, but here goes.

Like a lot of you I’m a fond PC gamer, I primarily play fast paced arena shooters but recently I’ve had a wrist pain come on me thats quite worrying.

I’ve always aimed with my wrist for 10+ years in shooters (high sens) rather than my arm and I’m starting to worry this may be the problem. Upon searching the internet I’m seeing carpal tunnel syndrome everywhere however I don’t have the usual symptoms like numbness or hand pain, it’s just my actual wrist joint that is sore..

Can anyone relate or share some advice? I’m debating buying a low profile wrist brace or some form of support, see if that helps.

That is because medical advice posts aren't permitted - people can share experiences but standard advice would be to see a healthcare professional.

I can share some advice - seek advice from someone who knows what they're doing. While there are some doctors on these forums, they're not working while they're here. The internet is useful, but it's not a substitute for years of specialised training. Online, every symptom is 2 or 3 clicks from being an indication of something fatal :)

"see if that helps" based on no knowledge at all is not the right approach to this problem. Wrists are complex and the problem isn't necessarily in your wrist anyway. Get advice from someone qualified to give it.

Before this thread gets locked, all I'll say is take a week or two off gaming, consider even a console for a little while, give your wrist a rest. That helps wonders for me.
