ok here's my specs
CPU : AMD ATHLON X2 5000+ @ 2.95GHZ (6.2)
MEM: 4GB OF DDR2 800MHZ RAM @900MHZ (7.1)
HDD: 500GB 7200RPM SATA HDD (SEAGATE) (5.9)
GPU: 2 X NVIDIA 9600GT'S IN SLI (7.1)

FSB 1150MHZ
BUS SPEED 230MHZ

the numbers in brackets are the windows experience index scores for each.

is it worth upgrading the HDD to a 64gb ssd for the OS and keeping the 500GB for data?

(also i can upgrade my cpu to an amd athlon x2 6400+ which might get me to 6.6-6.8 on the windows experience index.

so worth it? or build a new system?

if you can afford one , why not, it should give a good boost to any system, and it will go with a new system a later date

It will be a good buy. You will notice a very noticeable speed difference via windows and loading games.

However, don't believe the windows rating system, its a load of bollix tbh. Means **** all. :D

you will see and speed increase in load times but IMO you pay over the odds for that increase personally I would save the money towards a newer system if it were my £.
