Worth getting the 'older' COD's?

Hi all,

I was a bit late to the 'Call Of Duty' scene and only started playing from COD4 which I got on the 360.

Would like to get the rest of the series. Are they as good, still worth getting?
I notice I can get COD 2 + 3 as well for the 360 so it would be good to get the complete set for the same system. But, I can't seem to find any mention of COD1 being released? Is it not available for 360?

I find them fun to play through again, but only on the hardest setting. I played through COD2 earlier this year on the hardest setting on the PC, it took awhile to complete but was fun.

I thought it got taken off the XBL marketplace so you need a code that comes with Hardened/Prestiege Edition to download it? Not sure about PSNetwork.

It's not that great anyway. I found the movement felt a bit weird and awkward. Fun for a short blast but deffo better on the PC
 
Definitely up on PSN. ;) I got the hardened edition of MW2 you see so i didn't buy it directly from there but I did see it listed for £11.99 or something similar!
 
CoD3 is the series' low point, so steer clear of that. It's why CoD5 was met with a lot of derision before its release, partly because it went back to WWII after Modern Warfare, and partly because it was by Treyarch who did CoD3.

It was rubbish because it was a rush job for the PS3 release, with the 360 version being affected by the publisher's demand to release both at the same time if I recall correctly. So there's a lot of frame rate dips, a bunch of odd design choices, bad multiplayer and a bunch of other small issues. I think it was only in development for 9 months, for three platforms at the same time :eek:

It got pulled after a week or so when they realised it was meant to be exclusive to people who purchased the hardened edition of MW2! (If you managed to buy it before then you get to keep it)

It'll be back 'officially' at some point but I don't think there's any date yet.
 
lets just say COD started on the PC :P and thats where it is ment to be played

but COD 1 + 2 (not so much 3) are very good! 4 is good. WAW is not so good but single player is excelent!

Mind you Cod 1-3 are WW2

If you like Single player games also have a look at the old medal of honors!

Just what I thought, I went looking for CoD Classic on PSN but did not find it.

I think i'll get COD 1-2-3 on PC then? Is on-line play possible with these?

There are no other games apart from the above and COD4+MW2+COD5 is there?

Is there any other games like this that are worth getting? I herd a lot of talk about 'Battlefield' when it was released, is the single player any good?
