Worth while upgrade to 5XXX GPU?

I know its probably earlly days yet, ive got a XFX4890 and was just wondering would i be wise to look into these next gen cards?

what motherboard? i'd personally be waiting and buying a second hand 4890 once people start selling them to get their 5xxx cards

The new AMD DX11 cards look mighty powerful, but as with all PC upgrades - do you need the extra power?

The 4890 is a very powerful card and should handle all current games very well. If some games come out that the 4890 can't keep up with, then an upgrade would be a good idea. But bear in mind that the new 58** series will arrive at price points much higher than the 48**s when they were launched, so an upgrade may be an expensive proposition.

I don't think it's worth while to be an early adopter of the 5xxx since you have a pretty decent 4890.

If the prices are too much for the 5xxx then it's probably better and cheaper in getting another 4890 for xfire.

Try and stay 1 step behind technology. Thats what i do.

Then when these new cards come out, grab a bargain on MM with some of the old cards

I'm personally gonna wait untill the end of the month and try source a cheap 8800GT or something

Hd2900xt - HD5850

Not sure if the rest of the system will bottleneck a hd5850 though, P5ke (pcie1.1) & 4gb crucial and Q6600(3.0Ghz), I cant be bothered to type out all the overclocking stats

How much difference would it be going from those to just 1 5870? i'm guessing around 80% or a bit more

according to the rumour mill it should be around 95% i mean if the 5870 2gb is more powerful than the current 4870x2 and the 295gtx ......hold on tight ....cant wait for more reviews thou ...
