Would FPS for 1680x1050 be more or less the same as 1600x1200?

Just wondering as a lot of reviews still don't have a guide for WS monitors and was looking to see how far off 1600x1200 would be using indentical systems of course.

1680*1050 = 1,764,000 pixels
1600*1200 = 1,920,000 pixels

So if anything 1680*1050 should run better. It's slightly more complicated than that though because a game running in widescreen has a wider FOV which means the portion of the total 3D world you can see (assuming the game has some sort of bounding box/sphere view frustum culling) will be greater therefore the game will be rendering more triangles. However this is countered by the fact that the triangles will be smaller meaning the demands of per-pixel effects will be less.

I think overall they would be pretty similar. Certain 1600*1200 should be a good indication of how 1680*1050 would run.
