Would to 460,s beat to 280,s in sli?

GTX460 1GB SLI would be a bit faster than even the GTX285SLI here and there, but whether or not it's worth moving from GTX280SLI to them...probably not, unless you can get reasonble amount of money back selling the GTX280s (the last time I checked GTX280 only goes for as little as £115 2nd hand, and that was before the price drop of the GTX460 768MB...).

It however might worth going to a single GTX470 instead, as I've seen people that done this (also moved from GTX280SLI) seem to be quite pleased because the overall gaming experience felt smoother (no slow down/microstutter cause by multi GPU...i.e. 40fps on dual-GPU not feeling as smooth as 30fps on a single GPU), and let's not forget it can overclock to and beyond stock GTX480 speed.

Here's GTX470 vs GTX285SLI:

While it's behind in frame rate according to the results there, it is very likely that the GTX470 not be far behind if overclocked from stock speed 607MHz to 850MHz, and most likely will be higher in the minimum frame rate as well.

Or if you are completely fine with your GTX280SLI, you could always stick with it.

Just a reminder:
GTX460 1GB SLI cost around £330-£370
GTX470 cost around £220-£230
