Would you get the 780ti kingpin edition, if you could?

I would wait for 8Pack to have another sale and grab one of his benching cards if you're looking to bench over gaming!!!

Depends what you want to do. If you want to be aiming for benchmark world records then it's one of the best 780ti's you can get. If you're a gamer and casual bencher then it's not worth it.

I don't think many people will be breaking world records with them, I should think Vince has cherry picked the best ones for himself.:D:p

Interesting :) this not me personally. Im getting dual 290s. Benching card, that make sense i was curious if anyone with a tone of dollar had splashed out :p

I did have an order in for a couple of EVGA Classified 780ti's when the Kingpin was announced.

As I thought EVGA were being just plain greedy and I thought they should be putting effort into making sure the Classified was the top card, I cancelled my order and said to hell with EVGA, the Classified and the Kingpin edition.

EVGA you trashed a top brand (the Classified) when the next gen of cards launch are people going to think twice before buying a Classified version as there may be a Kingpin edition along later.

EVGA sort out your brands and your greed so people can buy with confidence in future.

The KP Edition is a special edition graphics card, meant to get overclocked with LN2 for records. It is not meant to be in a daily system, of course, if you like it/want it you can also run it in your daily system but there will not be much benefit compared to the normal Classified. Under normal Voltages and temps the KP card do not show its fully potential.
Lets compare it with cars :)
The M3 is still a nice car for the avarage man while they now have the m3 competition available. Because of this the normal one is not worser and for daily usage much better then the competition version with only two seat and iron cage...
You can also bang a lot of voltage on the normal Classi cards and run it far above normal specs...

My biggest argument is if EVGA had announced both the Classified and the Kingpin at the same time I would not have had a problem as it would then be up to us users to pick which ever version we wanted. I appreciate that it would probably have taken EVGA longer to get the Kingpin into the shops but it would have been nice to have known what the choices were at the start and I would probably be the owner of several Kingpin cards now.

When the next series of high end cards are launched by NVidia would it be possible for EVGA to announce all the versions they are going to produce, this does not mean they have to be available from day one though.

If it came with an extra 3GB of memory maybe, But as it stands, HELL NO !

But why would they add another 3gb? Less memory strain when benching the better, doubling up the memory isn't going to help in the slightest. iirc Vince even modified his titan bioses to only use 3 of the 6gb available.

I know this but they could easily include a physical switch to turn the extra 3GB off ;)
