No. There are too many games in some of the deals for one thread. It would be better if the threads were just deleted if somone hasnt bothered searching.

great idea.

i dont have time to look for deals and do spend most of my time browsing on here so a steam deal thread on here is a superb idea.

Yeah im sick of all the threads opening up when they do sales instead ppl should use one topic only imo. Edit ur posts and use the "expired" status if the deal is over and "active" if the deal is ongoing. Which i think would be nice as well. Also needs good moderating i.e remove duplicate posts i.e 2 ppl post l4d 2 is at so so price. Just have the first person who stated the offer and remove duplicates of the same info. Oh and please make it a no discussion topic sticky so its deals only info no discussions at all. That way if you subscribe to the topic u will get updates of the steam offers and not emails saying so so posted a message and when u go look its just discussion chat.

It's not about whether people might miss Steam deals, it's about having a forum that isn't full of such threads. Currently there's more adverts for Steam here than there is on their own web site.

Well what's the problem with that? Older offers disappear off quick enough.

There is no possible way a single thread will work, either you get rid of all discussion, in which case we have to create a new thread to suggest/recommend games that are on sale or raise questions about say windows 7 performance. Or you keep the discussion and the thread is so cluttered that you can't find any of the offers.

After a fashion, yes.

IT would be good to keep track of previous deals. E.g. if a game appears again, you can judge whether its actually a good deal, based on past experience.

No, as I can safely say, if there was a big thread, however constantly updated the front page would be, I would never catch a steam sale again.

Forum or as is, The big thread titles saying what games or developers are on offer is the best way to keep people informed

I would rather have 'themed' Steam threads - so one for the Halloween sale and another for the THQ week. The normal weekend/week sales though should be kept in one large thread and the special sales (mostly around Holidays) should be entitled to their own thread...

This is normally the case but theres usually some forum posters who cant be ****d to search and end up making new threads for no reason. They should be rightly directed to the 'official' thread and be done with it...

Id rather have that than one massive thread for every Steam sale - just would become unwieldy...
