WoW PC for £500? Need to be Gladiator!

why bother with the HDD when he can reuse the presumably sata HDD from his laptop from the time being? Should add ~60 to the budget.

Not true at all I run an fx8120 and I am getting over 100fps in busy cities and 40-60 on the most intense boss fights zonozz etc all of this 1080p on ultra ofc sometimes even while watching YouTube videos and listening on vent!

100 fps? You're talking graphics here which I am not. The FX8120 is on par with the i5 2500k and in some areas slightly worse. If you do heavy conversion and video editing/rendering the i5 will perform better in most situations. the FX is nice but dissapointing, 8 - cores and its a touch worse than a 4 - core.

Hi Jony27 just to update you that I am now proud possessor of a great system and just LOVE the speed, graphics on the most fab monitor ever (made the laptop look positively 1970s) cheers so much for your advice. Dispatch was v quick..have to confess got mate to put it all together. Now going to order the Boogie Bug mouse mat...Climbing up the WOW ladder to Gladitor :D

iirc, Wow prefers Nvidia over ATI/AMD and this isnt a ordinary GTX460, its factory overclocked at 867MHz instead of the stock 675MHz.

also included a very nice 24" Samsung monitor with the VAT back (£20) which brings the total to
~£525 or you could use that and get abetter eyboard such as the Sidewinder X4.
you can get a 1TB for around the same price of a 500GB if you look around .
