On my realm hellscream ive noticed that a lot of guilds have stopped raiding due to the rank 12-14 stuff being quite easily reachable. This happening on any other server?

As far as I'm aware a lot of PvE guilds are closing down at the moment because of the change to the number of people in raids.

Jokester

A lot of guilds I know have simply given PvE up due to the fact that level 61 green loot is better than anything you can get in BWL/AQ etc.

Thats not quite true, 61 greens are not better than T2 epics... but there is little point in guilds raiding atm as common drops and quest items will be similar to T2 gear a few levels into the expansion...

yup my guild comes to a halt almost, just about manage to get BWL done each week but nothing near AQ/Nax :(

Finished my T2 set a week ago though :)

and yes there are some damn greens in TBC. (Beta testing).

The pvp reward is really a double edged sword for me personally anyway.

It took me 8 weeks pvp'ing almost every night and a lot of weekend days to get to rank 10. I skipped doing instances and raids as I wanted the DPS gear. The grind to rank 10 really got me sick of pvping :p

Now you can get the full epic set and weapon after a few weeks of griniding, seems like I wasted my time, oh well. :(

If loot is the only reason that these Guilds raid, then they would have eventually ended up falling apart or stopping anyway so what's the problem? Most people I know raid for fun, and the loot is just a nice bonus.

my guild's sorta falling apart since a lot of the members want to farm the BGs for the easy Epixx.

I've quit though, i dunno how you do it but after a week of MC and AQ20 I couldn't help but find the game boring

Level 61+ greens are not on par with BWL/AQ40 until you get close to Level 70, even then Naxx loot is still quite comparable. The main statistic which has received a big boost is Stamina.

Yea, the guild Im in is really having trouble getting 20 people together for a raid. We, somehow, managed to get 40 people for a BWL run. And TBH it was our best run, even though we have ~10 new guys in the raid. The new 41 point talents have really made raiding easier (better heals, greater DPS and some funky tanking talents). On the flip side, we have a hard time finding Tanks and healers, since all they have all respec'ed to DPS. On the Chrommie fight, the healers were crying about how hard it was keeping a DPS warrior alive.

However, our GM has stated a few times on our forums that those who make the effort to show up for raids now will be the first on the list when it comes to raiding in the expansion. However this hasnt stopped some from showing us the finger when we ask for their help in getting a raid started. I think they will be looking for a new guild come TBC. . .

Hi James,

My guild has also stopped 40 man raiding for the time being, due to xmas and tbc being released soon.

My toon is Lofz (paladin) if you fancy a Scholo or UBRS run sometime

Ian

Havent been able to get enough for Naxx on our last 2 attempts due to PVP'ing / time of year. Raiding has been cancelled for now but might start up after christmas. I'm using the time to get my 2 alts to 60.

Loot IS the reason people raid. Sorry but people dont run the same instance over and over and over... for fun

And just my 2p. I think Blizzard have made an almighty **** up with this expansion, seems to me that they didnt have any idea on how to implement an expansion. The change from 40 to 25 is too big. Anyway sold my account so ill shut up. :D

I think Blizzard think they've made a mistake with the original game i.e. that 40 men raids were too hardcore for their target demographic. Seems very harsh that every hour I put into Molten Bore has now been wasted.

Im with this - been playing since the open beta's for the original WoW. 40 man is just a HUGE ballache, unless you get good ppl to help run the show being a guild leader is probably the least fun thing you will ever do. Smaller guilds means theres more chance of a group of folk having exact same idea as far as raiding and where they want to go goes. Larger and there's more egos and opinions to cater for.
