Ok dudes so i am about to use the 10 day trial so i need some help.
Firstly on the site when i go to create an account it says i should be in USA NZ or AUS there isn't a Euro or English/UK option, Does this matter or WTF ?

Secondly what server do you recommend and what char for a good all round bit of fun. Am edging on a Hunter at the mo.

Secondly do you know of any friendly noob welcoming guilds.

Cheers all.

p.s. Is the trial fully patched ?

:( No help or friends or guilds or servers or char suggestions then dudes.
It's took me all kin day to download and i am hoping to be up and running soon.

Thanks mate but would you believe after waiting the whole day for the download to complete it was corrupted :(
Have started it again from UK one and it looks like it will take all night to download. 10meg my end and i am getting around 410kb's kin Liberty.
My account name is ************ as i got sick of trying and failing to select a decent name.

you downloaded the us version *slaps head* doh

well anyway its your character name ill need when you make one, not your account name, you just gave out your account details, which is a bad idea ;)

It's not my account details is it ? Just my account name and that will be visible on the forums anyway.
Should i be worried now :p
If so edit out your quote and i will edit my post.

I'd recommend starting on a "normal" server. If you check here, pick a server name that says low and has a blue arrow next to it. Some of the low population servers are ones that have been migrated from, and can still be laggy, but unfortunately I don't know any names, and they are all down, so I can't even guess between the low population ones. Check out Alonsus, as it appears to be the newest "normal" realm.

I would offer to help you get started, but my computer and WoW are having some issues with each other, and the result is a bios loading screen every few minutes :(.

As far as characters are concerned, I would recommend trying everything up to at least level 10, further if you can. Warlocks and hunters are great, but they are the most complicated classes in the game. Warriors, paladins and priests don't do a lot of damage, so can be a bit disheartening when you start the game.
If you think you can pick up all of the stuff involved with a hunter, then I'd definately go with one, as they are fun and do a lot of damage. If you'd rather start with something simple, I'd probably recommend a mage - from the very start they are powerful, so you can concentrate more on what's actually going on around you.

account name isn't your characters name - each account can have 10 char.s per server and a max of 50 char.s iirc

go pvp, and just choose the recommended server

mages are a blast no doubt

hunters a good choice if you want ez mode :P nah but seriously, easy grinders/levelers and good (read overpowered) in pvp

Pvp servers are a stupid choice for a beginner. There are so many kids at level 60 who just sit in low level contested areas to kill people trying to quest that you wouldn't get much of a chance to figure out what was going on. It's not so bad for someone who knows the areas and has done the questions so many times they don't even read the log, but not for someone brand new to the game.

Go for a normal server, and if you decide that you want to fight players of the opposite faction while you're trying to quest, it's easy enough to start again on a pvp server. Starting with an identical character is much quicker than the first time round, as you've already done the quests and should have a better idea of what's going on.

Installed this morning.
I couldn't find the Hunter so just went for a Human Warrior who although looks rock hard is about as hard as a Limp one.
Leveled up to 3 :p then got arse raped by a gang of bandana wearing gayboys. Jeez there was me beating the crap out of some Doris when two dudes jumped me and beat the crap out of me.
I'll just mess about with this char and start another when i have a better idea of the environment etc.
One thing when i died it said i had to wait 6 mins or find my corpse, is the corpse only visible after the 6 mins ?
Nice intro though i must say and it plays very smooth. God knows what realm i am on it's just to much for me to remember.

The 6 minutes thing was probably the countdown until you 'left your body' so to speak. When you die you just view your body, if you click 'Release' you go to the nearest Graveyard, if you don't click then it counts down and then puts you to the nearest Graveyard after the time is up. So clicking or not clicking does the same thing, just not clicking does it automatically for you after X minutes.

Your body is immediately back in the world for you to find once you have 'Released', you just have to run back to it. Follow the arrow on your map, I think it has a tooltip of 'corpse' or something like that, otherwise you can press 'M' for map and it will show you a little gravestone of where to run to. When you get close enough to your corpse you can ressurect.

Edit: Hunters (Alliance) can only be elves or dwarves, that's probably why it wasn't appearing.

I just started this myself a few days ago (and made the same mistake of downloading the US version and wondering why it wouldn't work...). I'm up to a level 8 Night Elf Druid, and it's starting to make some kind of sense now - spent ages wandering around not knowing what to do to start with.

Nice choice mate, I've just started a Tauren Warrior myself. Im on Argent Dawn.

lol good luck and have fun, oh yea, dont forget to eat and drink ;)

Have gone over to the Dark side and now i am a Horde mage. He could not be uglier so i named him uglydude :D
Suits me more i think as it's dark and nasty rather than gay and cartoony :p
The women have fantastic Norks though so that's a bonus but i couldn't get any action off anyone of them, Pffff frigid obviously.

One thing i do have to ask though is Does time stop when you play WOW as i have just lost 3 hours in about 20mins :p

Initial impressions.
Looks well enouth, runs as smooth as Silk (for now), very involving and some excellent features like the chat LOL etc.
Bonus. Women have Huge Norks.
