Hi all,

I am trying to install the above on the trial offer Blizzard have. I download the installer and run it as admin but i get a message that says:

Administrator access required to install the game.

This program requires administrator access to be installed. If you do not have access to an administrator account on this machine, please contact someone who can log on as an administrator to install this program. Non-administrator accounts are not able to install the files which are required by this program. If you do not know what an administrator account is, or you need help logging on as an administrator, please contact your local computer manufacturer for more details.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks Guys

Tried right clicking on the installer and going to "run as administrator"? If you've already tried that restart your pc in safemode and do it that way. I've had this problem before but I can't think of exactly what I did to get around it lol :(

Will give that a go tomorrow. Will let you know how i get on!!!!! Unless anyone else can come up with something else.

I would imagine the right click run as admin should do the trick.

Odd though, I don't remember having that issue back when I installed it, but it was so long ago I don't really remember.

you know you can disable the whole pop up so you never have to keep pressing ok everytime you willingly want to install a damn program.

seriously what was microsoft thinking. with that. I'm logged in as administrator therefore I am running something as administrator, I don't need to click ok to say otherwise. stupid vista.

It's trying to teach ignorant people that running everything as the Admin account is bad practice. It's stopping processes such as trojans / keyloggers / etc. and at least giving you a chance to realise whats going on and to not allow it.

Here's how to keep UAC enabled but make it slightly less annoying...

I don't know if this will fix the Wow install though, you should still try the right click, run as admin.

if right click run as doesnt work it may be because you have not setup a password for the admin account. Set one up first but make it simple (if you want it easy to remember), for example you could use the letter "p".
Expect this to be a common problem for all games for windows and live versions aswell as it is part of the guidelines to have UAC active.. :P
