WS Monitor for 360 & PC - no stretching!

Hi,

I'm after a monitor for plugging in my 360 and my PC. I hear a lot of monitors stretch the image from the 360 as it outputs 16:9 and not 16:10.

My 4:3 LCD currently outputs with black bars top and bottom for the 360, which I don't mind as it keeps the aspect ratio - its just that the image is a bit small.

Which 19/20" WS TFT monitors will keep the apsect ratio at 16:9 by putting in the black borders top & bottom? Is this 1:1 scaling or do monitors that don't do this do it as well?

Would I even notice the stretching?

I was thinking of the Belinea 10 20 35W.

cheers for any thoughts.

The Belinea doesnt have aspect ratio control afaik through hardware. Maybe something like the Dell 2007WFP would be good as it also has interfaces for external devices which might be handy

i have the hanns g 19 inch ws monitor with both a dvi and vga connection which allows for both pc and 360 to be connected to avoid having to change the wires over every time.

I don't know whether its 16:9 or 16:10, but a lot of people do use it for their 360 and are very pleased - check customer reviews on others sites.

I have one just for my pc - excellent via dvi, but unfortunately don't have a 360!

but at about £115 they are a bargain - look around for deals

but the belineas are all very good too as i've read on this forum and others - slightly more expensive, but still awesome value is the general consensus

The Dell has a 16 ms response time - is this OK for gaming?

yep, it's one of the more responsive models in the market in fact! LG.PHilips rate the S-IPS panel used as being 8ms G2G, Dell decided not to use this figure for some reason?! But in practice, it's a very responsive screen. Review here by the way:)

The Dell 2407 on Xbox 360 with VGA.

at 1080 you get stretching setting the sharpness to 30, gets rid of it.

But when you got back to DVI it resets the sharpness. And you can not set 1:1.

So a firmware fix would help.
