Ok, so odd title for a post but I really do want to buy my final PC before I die for VR. Now death is either going to come from old age or the missus when she sees the cost - but this is a once in a lifetime purchase.

My last PC was brought from you guys - well the bits about seven years ago and hand built. Since lost the account login etc so, new account now.

I can only afford this once so want to do it right. I am looking at this...

...my VR experience is fairly good, I do own a DK1 and a DK2, both second hand. Was a bit shell shocked when the specs came out for the CV1 / release Rift on what it needed.

I am torn between the HTC and the Rift, but I think I am leaning towards the HTC at the moment.

The problem I have is this - I have a hell of a lot of data on my old PC - so the hard drive specs don't seem enough and I also have a question about apps etc on the VR side that somebody maybe able to answer.

Here are my questions that I would value and educated response to help me with all the facts so I can make the right choices.

1 - The PC I linked above, does not seem to have a blu-ray player and burner in it - can I get it ordered with one of those installed ?

2 - The same PC needs more storage. Obviously the SSD will have the OS - but would I be able to get it with one possible two xxx TB drives as well.

3 - VR. On the DK1 and DK2 I loved the Rift Max cinema experience. Is there anything like it as that appears to be discontinued.

If options are available for 1 and 2 above - how do I order as the drop down in the PC specs seems to lack the ability to add additional factors such as above.

Many thanks.

Regarding No.3, as andybird123 said, if you go with the Rift, you can use the native Oculus Home cinema app.

However, if you go with the Vive (or as an alternate Rift app), have a look at what Virtual Desktop will let you do. As well as using your desktop in VR, it features some pretty comprehensive video playing modes (just watch the video on the Steam page).

Ha! You star...

...so I had used that Virtual Desktop on the Rift before, it was good - but it has come along leaps and bounds now. I love the way they've tied it in very much with the Vive for SteamVR. I am thinking that the Vive ( was already leaning towards that pre-order was the way forward out of the pair ), this has just cemented it a little more.

Thanks for the heads up with this. Now I need to finalize the PC specs...
