WULFRAM - whats it like anyone played it??

Seen this online game called wulfram and wondered if anyone knows whats it like, says its a free online strategic game and looks interesting but wondered if theres any hidden costs and if its worth playing or no.

Any info is gonna be very welcome and if it rubbish please tell me as then I wont waste my mental prowess wondering about it.

its based on the glide API and looks about 20 years old (mainly because it is)
good community iirc and quite fun if you can do the fiddly controls
