x1600 PRO what pixel shader ????

yep only 4 pipelines, its in the same class as a 6200.
it has 12 pixel shader pipes and 5 vertex shader pipes. performance is about on par with the 6600GT.

Well it is shader model 3.0 compliant and has 12 pixel processors (3 ALUS on 4 true pixel pipelines)
Yes, although the PS ALUs are decoupled from the other units. So it's:

12 full PS ALUs (3 pixel quads)
4 ROPs
4 TMUs

However, you can't use that information for an apples to apples comparison because:

1.) The dispatch processor improves texturing performance.

2.) The memory controller improves performance with AA.

From what I've seen, the X1600 Pro performs similarly to the 6600 GT.

Or for comparison the X1600Pro just manages in some scenarios to keep up with a card that is 2 years it senior!

Its a poor showing from ATI.

I would personally choose a X800GTO or above over the X1600 series anyday.

Yes the X1600 has SM3.0 but it isn't fast enough to properly utilize the effects anyway.
