I have been using a x1600 ( 512MB job ) in one of my PCs and I decided to swap it for a 6600GT.
The thing is, that they are about the same speed, so I checked a few sites and I had some interesting finds...
Many sites say that they are on-par with each other...
Some sites say that the 6600GT is on par with an x800
Now, it does not take a genuis to also come up to the conclusion that this alos means that they must all be about the same speed.
Now, I have also got an x800, as well as a x850 too, and I can clearly see that the x800 and x850 are miles quicker than the 6600GT and the x1600.
So, how the hell can these benchmarks come to the conclusion that both the x1600 and the x800 are about on par with the 6600GT???
Ah, sodding hell... At least the 6600GT is SLI capable as I am getting a second one to have a play, so its not completely wasted money... Hell, Im going to use the x1600 back in the No3 and just shove the 6600 into the Opteron box cos that never gets used these days.
