Hi

The prices for the X1950XT have now become more affordable and I'm considering upgrading to the above GC.

Will the upgrade be worthwhile, in percentage terms, what sort of performance gain can I expect?

That would be more of a sidegrade than an upgrade to be honest, the X1950XT was basically just a rehashed X1950XT and really didn't offer anything better apart from a new cooler.

As said; The only way to upgrade from an X1900XT is to buy an 8800GTS, so hang on to your card for a bit until prices plummet on release of the 8600s, R600, R610, R630 etc. in the coming months.

Not worth it, a slight overclock on your x1900 XT (to XTX speeds) and it'll be faster than the x1950, Those cards aint worth buying now anyway, only cards to get are the Nvidia 8 series now, or wait for ATi's R600's, as said above 320mb GTS is not much more than the x1950 XT, and it destroys it, but surely your x1900 is still going strong so tehres no need to upgrade yet.

I hope those aint competitor prices above btw as they aint allowed. ;)

new rules

I thought it was only not allowed to write the competitors names or links..

I edited it out now to be on the safe side...

Cheers for the input guys, I think I will hold out for the 8800GTS then :)

@ Rapid-D - the X1950XT I've seen does indeed come with 512 RAM, but it's DDR3 and not the DDR4 variety though :)
