Heyup guys, got my nice x1900xt but looked into properly overclocking it recently and noticed other people are getting temperatures of about 70 when overclocked, even with the standard cooler. Well mine sits at around 90-95 slightly underclocked, which i'd assumed was normal up until now. I bought it from the members market on here, is it safe to assume the heatsink was removed and re-fitted incorrectly?

Probably yea i think the accelero s1 fits those ? ask the seller if this was the case.

I had 2 x1900xtx's in crossfire a year or so back and load temps were always in the 90c region even when i redone the thermal compound and refitted the cooler. They just run hot.

Ah thats alright then. All i seemed to be seeing was people saying that they set the cooler to spin at 100% (noisy as ****) and they were getting under 70 degrees. Obviously i was slightly concerned.

Might look at getting an S1 cooler for it then, might not need to attach a fan to it as i have two 120mm yate loons in the side of the case.

Pure silence with the S1, but buy some akasa thermal tape as the stuff thats on the ram sinks are crap.
Idles at 32C load at 50C.
If i overclock the core to 680 (from 621) load temp is 52c, this cooler really is worth buying.
