Is there any one out there that is currently using an X1900XT-X in Crossfire? I have my X1900XT-X here and plan to get my new mobo and Crossfire master card next week but I was wondering if anyone can tell me what I am in for? Will I see a masive boost in preformance from the X1900XT-X on standalone or is there no games out there at the moment that can take advantage of the Crossfire fully?

Oh just for referece I dont even have my PC yet, its being delivered on Tuesday the 28th and I am already upgrading it, lol.

CPU limited, to buggery. even on that one, FX60 is still limitd. But at least you'll know its pulling its weight lol have fun

depends on the res. if your new pc is coming with a 30 inch dell then yeah... nice boost.... anything less than a 21" will prolly be cpu limited.

yep, seems you have a 19" screen, if thats a crt and you can play at 1600x1200 or higher then its possibly/probably going to show a decent increase. if its a tft and you're stuck at 1280x1024 you'll see VERY little increase in performance. you'll be cpu limited but also at 1280x1024 on a x1900 there shouldn't be any games that will be pushing it at that res(or almost none) so game feel wise you shouldn't feel the difference. benchmarks will increase even with the cpu limiting, but won't increase as much as you'd think in standard benchmarking, but you can always benchmark at 1600x1200 and see the performance differences.

1600x1200 or above, get it if you can afford it easily. under that, even if you can afford it, its just not worth it.

as the others have allready said "it depends on the res" If you have a Dell 24" then great other wise dont waste your money

This peview here will give you a good idea of what to expect from a crossfire setup.

But when i had my SLI setup..It was the image quailty with 8xAA and 16xAA that really impressed me with running daul cards..It's got be seen to belive..
Just that my two 7800gtx 256mb where not fast enought to run games like fear and COD2 at 8xAA and 16xAA..So am hoping a pair of 7900gtx will be.(when there back in stock).
I not tryed a crossfire setup myself. But am guessing you should have roughly the same AA settings with a crossfire setup as you do with SLI.

Thanks for the info guys. My monitor's max res will be 1440 x 900 and I want to run at full everything at that on games like FEAR, COD2, Doom3, Quake 4 etc.... Do you think that I can achive that with my current setup or will I need the crossfire card to get this.

Im just getting to grips with Crossfire.

Ive only tried a handfull of games

FEAR 1680x1050 everything maxed in game (never tried with soft shadows though) with HQ AF and Adaptive AA in drivers

BF2 ^^
Red Orchestra ^^

I run with Vsinc so im only ever going to get 60 Max anyway, but all in all the above 3 games looked and played fantastic.

Still a bit of a noob with the setup so i wont really be able to help with any in-detail questions so far though :(
