X1900XTX v 8800GTS

hi thinking of getting the 8800gts and selling my x1900xtx, but would they be a biggish difference in gaming on a monitor at 1280x1024 and what are these like for movie playback, video editing ect. Ive got vista so what is the driver stituation with nvidia and these GFX. thanks

ps what is the going rate on a Sapphire X1900XTX.

At 1280x1024 i wouldn't bother personally, but if you must then my mate sold his x1900 XT master for £170, so you should get a good price for your XTX.

I Think Nv's Vista drivers are pretty good at the minute, they were leaked unofficially, but ive heard good things about them here and the official release shouldn't be to long.

I was thinking about £150 for x1900xtx then its just another oner for the GeForce 8800 GTS + ive got a dfi 939 board and 3500+ cpu sitting around under the bed it all add up. Thanks Loadsamoney

Hi , i got £150 for my xtx last week on the mm ,could have sold it 3 times over in the end so dont let it go too cheap.bought myself a 8800gtx , well pleased

Personally, I wouldn't pay £100 to upgrade @ 1280x1024 from what you have.

ive got the 8800gts coming on wednesday, may have sold the xtx to a mate with a dfi nf4 sli-dr for £200 which im happy with that even though the xtx did cost £480 . Just need a new monitor this old 17" packard bell will have to do.

Big difference No, difference yes, worth it? depends on what games you play, Oblivion with all the eye candy on and 16X AA and AF or HDR looks and plays Great, you have a E6400, OC it to 2.4 and run 3d Mark 06 and compare the difference with me, with your card at stock speeds! I would wait for the R600 range thou, it cant be far away now!
