just got a 512mb x1950GT, its a limited edition that comes with 1.1ns memory and clocks of 500/1400mhz. just installed it in my pc, runs a treat on desktop programs like photoshop etc, but artifacts like a beast in ati tray tool and any game. im running a 380w Enermax coolergiant psu....is this likely to be causing my issues due to lack of power to the card under load?

Cheers

I'd have thought the PSu would be fine, depending on the rest of the power draw on your rig. could well be a borked card, try and update driver of try a few different ones, and if all else fails ask a friend to try it out and if its still not a happy card RMA that Muther !

rest of the system is a 3200+ A64 cpu overclocked to 2.55ghz, 1gb DDR400 at 208mhz, DVD writer, usb keyboard and mouse (saitek) 2 case fans, USB Soundblaster mp3+. all on a DFi Lanpart RDX200 mobo.

i did initally think this, but lookin at my PSU specs, its seems that the 12v ratings are as follows, +12v no:1 is 14amps and +12 no:2 is 13amps. doesnt the A64 require a 12v rail meaning that only one is being used for the gfx card? meaning that only 14amps is reaching it?

took the card to a friends house tonight, has a 560w PSU that was 2 12v rails, both capable of 18a (20 peak).....same problems, think its a on card memory issue....ah well, RMA it is :(
