I'm looking to get a dual X1950 XTX Crossfire setup, but the only master card listed on the site is the ATI reference card. Are there any dates for the other brands (Sapphire, HIS, etc)?

I think they'll all be the same except maybe the bundles. The cooler is the same anyhow :)

HIS do the Silent cooler remember

to OP I would ring the shop regarding the Mastercard - to check what brands they have, I would personally avoid connect3d with my experience of buying what was called an ATI X1900 and a connect 3d arrived

But I thought the new ATI cooler is basically exactly the same as this? Just had a look on the HIS site and there's no CF master card on there.

Right here is what I believe happened:

Original X1900 had a very loud fan, but by the time the majority of third party X1900's were available this had been changed to a quieter one.

HIS offer a silent card (I believe it uses a well liked after market cooler) and these are available for X1900 and X1900 master's also

X1950 is only available at the moment as the slave card apart from a generic ATI X1950 ( this is how I ordered my X1900 master as generic ATI card and was disappointed to find it was branded when it arrived)

I am sure there are branded X1950 masters on the way

edit - I dont believe the fan between the 2nd edition X1900 and 1st edition X1950 has changed but I could be wrong

Looking at the reviews, one of the major points for the X1950XTX is the cooling fan?, Just look at the X1950 page on OC and you can see it looks almost identical to HIS's X1900 fan whereas other makes still use the horrible noisy standard X1900 fan.

HI there

We only do one Master card, its ATI branded and is compatible with all the usual slave X1950 cards from Sapphire, HIS and Connect3D etc....

Thats because it is the HIS cooler, all x1950's have that HIS cooler, doesn't matter what the brand is. :)

Spot the quote on some of the 3D review sites from an ATI representative that it isn't actually the HIS cooler. It's very similar yes, but the coppers unit is larger and the shroud is different. The X1950 cooler was produced by an ATI partner, not HIS.

Hi there

Yes this is correct the new cooler on the X1950 is not an IceQ 3 it is actually superior. :)

Yeah i didn't actually mean it was the HIS cooler as in HIS gave them the ICEQ 3's for them, its very similar, and as Gibbo says its better, more like an ICEQ 3+, or 3.5, and the x1950's will all have that cooler on. :p
