x1950xt as master of an x1900xt?

just a quick one.
i want to have crossfire for my core2 duo setup (which I'm hoping to have within the next few months), i bought a x1900xt 256 'slave' card late last year, with the intention of using it in my current PC until i could afford the complete C2D, i had then intended to buy another x1900xt 'master' but to my dismay OcUK seem to have completely dropped the 1900 line :(.

so, the big question is: can i run an x1950xt as a master, using the x1900xt as a slave?

Yes you can, but you would be mad to buy an x1950 now, they are totally worthless now as they are old gen Dx9 cards, you can get a faster next gen Dx10 card for around the same price, bit less than that now, you would be best off selling the x1900 you have now, and getting a single next gen Dx10 8800 GTX as its faster than those 2x cards put together, its even faster than 2x x1950 XTX's in crossfire, or sell your x1900 you have and get the new 320mb GTS thats coming out on the 12th, supposedly coming in around the £200 mark, it may not be as fast as the crossfire'd cards, but its faster than the single x1900 XTX/x1950 XTX, and if you get an SLi board for your Conroe rig you could add another one, and 2x of them for £400 would be faster than Crossfire'd x1950 XTX's as they'd be even faster than a single 8800 GTX. :)

thanks for the advice mate ;), fortunately i just checked the price of the x1950 master (just after i posted), and realized an 8800 would be almost as cheap.

thanks for the help anyway :D

Yeah the Gainward 8800 GTS was only £250 here the other week. :)

EDIT: the BFG 320mb GTS is gona be £199 all in, and theres gona be even cheaper ones as the BFG's are overclocked.
