Hey all,

Just come across a Toledo rev E6 X2 4200 cpu with a TDP of 89w.

Could I expect this to run cooler than my current X2 Manchester E4 / TDP 110w, when overclocked ? Afaik the later rev E6 has a slightly tweaked / improved memory controller, so it might overclock a bit better

I've no idea what the stepping is unfortunately.

My E6 Toledo 4200+ does 3GHz at 1.525v and the core temps are only about 5c higher compared to my E4 Manchester 3800+ which does 2.5GHz at 1.425v.

Air cooled using a Thermaltake Big Typhoon. The max core temp I saw with the 4200+ at 3GHz (1.525v) was 65c originally when running Orthos at priority 9 (it's got a TCaseMax of 65c so I wasn't too worried) but with better cooling in my case I got it down to 57c.

I should have also mentioned the E6 does 2.8GHz on stock volts whereas the E4 doesn't go much higher than 2.5GHz regardless of volts.

Good to know. Would you happen to remember what stepping the E6 4200 was ?

I might get one over the next few days if my search for an Opty170 fails.

It's:

ADA4200DAA5CD
LCB9E0646UPMW

Some have been getting:

ADA4200DAA5CD
LCBKE 0643SPMW

I was hoping for a LCBKE as it's supposed to be real good but can't complain about what I got. :D

EDIT: Found my 3GHz screenshot:

I stopped it at ~9 hours so it's not properly stress tested yet. Gonna buy 2GB of ram soon and will redo the stress testing for the full 24 hours.
