I apologise if this is a question that is probably pretty straightforward to answer but its been a while since I have worked with upgrading a system and my old brain isn't as sharp as it used to be to figuring out the answer!

I have a gigabyte motherboard X38T-DQ6 which currently has 4 sticks of 1gb Corsair 1333mz RAM installed on a vista 64bit system.

I would like to increase the RAM on it plain and simply to get the most out of the system before it gets replaced at some point in the future.

Now from what I can tell the maximum capacity of the RAM on this motherboard is 8gb at 1333mhz?! (i think)

Would it best best to install 2 x Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C8 1333MHz Dual-Channel across all 4 channels?

or will a Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit work just fine and be quicker or slower across 2 channels?

If the 8gb kit is fine across 2 channels, would I be better off buying a Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit instead simply because of difference in the price? or will the 1600mhz RAM cause issues with the motherboard?

Many thanks for you help!
