Okay so here Is the motherboard I have chosen;

Biostar TA890FXE AMD 890FX (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard

And I cant decide between the;
AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1090T Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail
Or the
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 965 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.40GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail

But thats not my question. The reason in me trying to decide which CPU to get is because i want to save money by getting the X4 BE instead of X6 however i think the X4 can only support a max RAM speed of 1333Mhz? I looked around for the X6 and i think that too can only support a max RAM speed of 1333Mhz whereas the motherboard can support;

Memory: Support Dual Channel DDR3 1800(OC)/1600(OC)/1333/1066/800 MHz, 4 x DDR3 DIMM - - Memory Slot: Max. Supports up to 16GB Memory

Can the X4 or the X6 i posted both support more than 1333? if so what can it support? (1600Mhz is the one im looking for) Thanks.

EDIT: If they can support 1600Mhz can anybody please post some ideal RAM @ 1600Mhz for this motherboard and CPU (X4 or X6?) (all seem to be optimised for Intel..) If they cant support 1600Mhz then if anybody could do the same and post some ideal RAM @ 1333Mhz for this motherboard and CPU (X4 or X6?) (all optimised for Intel again?) Thanks.

You can use the higher speed memory but to get that memory to run at the higher speed you will have to overclock the processor.

Okay so i think i'll just get the X4 BE then. All i need to think of now is some 1333Mhz RAM to buy because all are optimised for Intel -.-

I know you probably have made your decision on the mobo but I would def go with the ASUS ROG Crosshair III

+1 that's the best amd board at that price. As for Cpu if you can afford it take the X6 as its much better, I have the above Motherboard with 1600mhz ram, You don't need to overclock to get that speed, all i did was select 1600mhz in the Bios. My CPU is a Phenom 2 X2 555 Unlocked (Quad core)
