X470 bios update needed

Hi all, tried finding a similar thread but couldn’t see anything relevant. First time building in over 10 years so a but rusty. Got a x470 msi gaming max along with a Ryzen 5 3600x.

powers on but the mobo lights are red for th RAM modules an switches between cpu, boot and vga so I get no display etc.

looks like I may need a bios update for the mobo but I’ve no way of getting one applied as I don’t have another Ryzen cpu to try and boot up. Any suggestions?

Mainly boils down to, going back to the retailer or finding a local store that might be able to help, see if you can get a bios flash kit form AMD or find someone who can lend you a supported CPU.

Try with just 1 stick of ram. If you got the mobo new recently then it should have a bios in there that supports that cpu. Since you get ram lights going on i suspect a issue there

Max model should already have BIOS for a 3600X.
