Any update on this as a media player? I'm tempted to pick up a tablet as a remote control, come web browser come email checker

sorry haven't been able to connect it up to TV, got a back and chest injury atm.
However it quickly developed a calibration problem and on the left hand side of the screen it is up to 1/2cm out. Apparently android can not be calibrated either.

So I guess you'd NOT recommend this then? Funny but it seems to be the most "pushed" 7" tablet out there right now. I could live with resistive screen but not the screen moving!

it's usable but difficult, will be emailing supplier and see if they will change it.
It's a pretty major problem so I wouldn't recommend it. combine that with the fact it can't be upgraded to use flash and it is not good in the slightest.

I'm sure I read that this model was being updated to 2.2 in "October" so rather surprised you think it cannot be? But have to bow to your experience as I don't own one.
Over on teh android tablet forum, although it will be updated to 2.2, apparently the processor is not supported by flash. So will be 2.2 with no flash.

Hey Acid. I really appreciate the info and pics. I recently ordered an X5a and am impatiently waiting the long shipping from Hong Kong. I'm so curious about 2 things from the lack of discussion in other reviews.
1) Some pics/videos floating around show the SD card sticking halfway out and I was curious if yours inserts fully.
2) Unless I've gotten my versions mixed up, I believe 2.1 had the 3D Gallery, yet I've seen in several Youtube clips where they had the old 2.0 gallery (w/o Picasa sync) though they're running on what claims to be 2.1. Curious what gallery yours came with. I remember installing the 3D gallery on my Droid back in the day when it was available yet, but I couldn't remember if it actually sync'd w/ Picasa unofficially installed by apk. Thanks in advance for any possible enlightenment.
