X79 or Z87

Right I have 2 choices right now

I have a skt 2011 X79 rig (i7 3820, with a faulty Gigabyte G1 Assassin 2)

I also have a Asus Maximus VI Hero mobo but no CPU

Now my problem is should I get a CPU for the Asus Hero board (been looking at the i7 4770k)

Or should I get a new motherboard for the i7 3820 (been looking at the Asus formula)

You should RMA the X79 board as it has a 3 year warranty and use that.

Some x79 boards floating about dirt cheap at the moment, I'd stick it out with x79.

I bought the board with the second pci-e slot totally snapped off and today the onboard sound went I don't know if they would accept the board for RMA

So I should sell my Asus Maximus hero board then?

Hmm, well if you dont ask then I guess you wont know, but a snapped off slot will be user error and I personally would say tough luck.
