p.s. ive created a bootable DVD image using windows 98 boot disk files and have injected the flash files needed into it. if anyone would like it its 2mb, you just need to go to nero, select bootable dvd from the wizard, select the location of the file i send you, then burn it (it shows nothing in the file browser but dont worry, it works fine.

im currently working on automating it so that you boot from the dvd and it gives you 2 options, option 1 = flash to new 16 pipe bios, option 2 = flash to recovery (default ) bios. when im done, people will just have to select which they want and it should run through automatically...

i ran fear in max with 4x AA last night with a modded GTO, it was bliss... nice shiney light bits too (HDR ? )

silly peoples... use ati tool to find your maximum overclocks, then use RADLINKER you use it to set up a custom overclocking icon for each game, that way your cards only clocked when you start the game and returns to default when you close it. much safer than clocking it 24 / 7

Do they give you extra settings on the shortcut to your game in the form of tabs via the properties view rather than having to start an actual program up? do they take 0% of system resources when they do their job Radlinkers a lot better and much easier to use... EDIT: in my opinion of course...lol

well i love radlinker myself, especially since ive just moved from Nvidia and leadteks winfox, also riva tuner, didnt seem to matter what i used, the ram always stayed overclocked but it would drop the GPU back. all in all i didnt have a great time with my 6800NU

so you cant clock to XTPE speeds, This isnt a problem!!! it will flash to 16 pipes, youl get to overclock to about 500 on the Graphics core and at least 540 on the ram. your still gonna pull at least 5500 from 3dmark 05 once clocked and flashed. which means your card was worth what you paid for it.


now go download the boot disk and flash the bugger, then be happy

i think it gets to 85 / 90oC then kicks the fan into full speed im told it operates up to 120oC so i wouldnt worry too much

EDIT: sorry gak, i didnt see your post above i dont think 10mhz is gonna make enough difference to be honest, just use the GTO2 mod sticky at the top of the graphics forum and follow the instructions, youl be on your way

as far as i new, you shouldt have to flash anything with a 6800NU, if your looking to unlock pipes, use riva tuner, i wrote a guide with screen shots if you want it ?

was looking to up the voltage to help with the overclock already tried the pipes and it isnt interested

ah i c, as far as i am aware you can only up the voltage by modifying the actual circuit design, some have had success with doing this but in my opion there is a point at which insanity comes in and the words "flogging a dead horse" start ringin in my ears and its usually when people start talking about modding the circuit. its dangerous and again in my opinion, not to healthy for the board and your system. if something goes wrong and you pull too much current, by by motherboard... plus its not exactly a brilliant sales point when you come to get wrid of it

when i had a 6800NU i couldnt modify the pipes either they unlocked but i got a green tint on textures the extra vertex shader unlocked at least. i hear tall story of people getting 4400+ marks on 3d05 with a 6800NU overclocked, but usually only when texturing and any filters are set to performance which isnt a real test

my advice, if you havent got a PCI-E set up yet, save for one because there really are some damn good cards coming for it now

THE TEST::::::::::::::::::

trying to get over 6000 in 3dmark, ive noticed im artifacting at 540/605 so out of curiosity i only overclocked the GPU. clocked it to 550, no artifacts and 5540 in 3d05 which makes me think my artifactings comming from my ram. so im gonna keep pushing on the GPU see if it cant do 560, then work on the memory which if i can get it all stable at say 560/580 that should give me the score i desire and the power to last me the next 12 months

oh, p.s. temps are great, 57oC at full load.

what cpu do you have james. i dont know where to start to overclock this 3800+.

ok, i used a bios update, set GPU 555 mem 585, cat 5.9 and 3dmark05 score is 6237 up from 5850 i finally hit my magicle 6000 i can rest easily now

MrW first off, from the info in the picture your core probably wont unlock , secondly with an overclock like that i really really would run ATI tool for an hour to be certain... a couple of minutes isnt enogh time to heat it up and you really dont want it to go pop half way through a game...

but as for unlocking it, im making another ISO, it should be up in the sticky later if you want to try it

well as far as i can gather from the picture its hard locked, but as i say, you can try and see if your lucky... but if it goes wrong youl need to install a PCI card and reflash
