X850xtPE compared to a HIS x1950 pro agp

Hi im getting a new PCI system so wondering what to do with my old AGP one

AMD Athlon 64 3400+ @ 2.2 stock
Asus A8V Deluxe ddr400 agp motherboard
4x512mb Corsair valueselct ddr400
ATI X850xtPE graphics card @stock speeds
250gb western digital 7200rpm harddrive
WinPower 450w power supply.

So my question is, would it be worth it to put the HIS x1950 pro 512mb in that system?
Would the processor bottleneck it?
Is the crappy power supply enough to power the system with that new card in it?
Maybe even putting some 2x1gb high quality RAM in there along with the x1950 could give this pc a new lease of life?

x1950pro will work in there fine, will be a slight bottleneck, but the performance increase will still be staggering from an x850, i went from an x800 XT PE to my x1800 XT, and the increase totally blew me away, its more than double, and the x1950pro is around the same, if that PSU has got about 28a on the 12v rail then it'll be fine. :)

Just seen how much those PSU's are, i wouldn't trust it at all, id buy a decent branded one.

Yeah i see that the PSU im using retails for the grand price of £8.50

Surely it must be bad but then how would it have managed to power my current system for so long with zero problems(apart from the noise when the fan kicks up a notch under heavy gaming)
It does get rather hot though.
Also checking this utility http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine

Set up with the settings of my current rig it gives me 412w
If i simply swap the x850xt pe for the x1950 pro it gives me 399w
How can that be? is it possible that the x850xt pe uses more power than the x1950 pro? (by the way both the 850 i have and the 1950 i want are 512mb)

Oh and here is the specs i found on the PSU case

WIN POWER PFC switchable 450w atx450

Input
115vac
10a max
60hz
230 vac
5a max
50hz

OUTPUT
+12v 20a max
+5v 38a max
+3.3v 28a max
-5v 0.5
-12v 0.8

+sv/sb 2.0a

Oh and could somebody recommend the cheapest PSU that would run the PC with the new x1950 pro ?

I wouldn't recommend going for cheapest, get yourself a Corsair 520W or its bigger brother (620W, I got one). thats gonna last you for ages, its the best PSU I ever owned and i had Power & Cooling at some point. It will be future proof.

You can also look at sum of the Seasonic PSU, but Corsair and Seasonic PSU are basically the same but the Corsair is tweaked in Corsair labs ;)

You can have a look at Antec PSU, one of my mate got this one:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-062-AN
It runs fine with his dual core amd x1950 setup. Don't think they will be as good as Corsair, I cannot recommend it enough

Yes mate the PSU might be futureproof, but the AGP system is not :)

After the x1950 pro it will never ever have another upgrade so i am just looking for the cheapest PSU.

Any other thoughts about the extreme outervision PSU calculator saying that the x1950 pro will use less power than the x850xt pe ?

Could that be right or a fault in the calculator?
