Xbox 360 and my CRT ?

I tried my 360 on my Iiyama 454 and I didn't like it. The picture was soft and it wasn't anti-aliased.

Anti aliasing has nothing to do with the monitor, its the hardware that renders it.

You notice 60hz in Windows because you're staring at text When playing a game you're looking at the overall image, which is full of varying colours.

Either way the end result is the same, headache for the short-term, eye-strain in the mid-term, degrading eyesight in the long-term.

You're half right but a CRT television has a natural antialiasing effect - it doesn't remove all jaggies but it softens them. (just FWIW)
