XBox 360 Extended Warranty

Quick question for you lot Last week I swapped my PS3 for a few-day-old 360 Elite and in the box is the usual extended warranty card. At the moment I dont have a spare £60 but it would be nice to have the extended warranty in the future, does the extended warranty form have a cut off date or can I send it off in say... 3 months time when I have the cash?

Sure you can extend it anytime in the 1st year since date of purchase, MS have given a 3 year warranty on the 3 red lights however which is something to consider as this seems the main problem, but others I know have had a dvd or hdd drive fail.
