Xbox app on Win 10 not showing PC game achievments?

On my Win 10 PC, I can get the Xbox live app to acknowledge the games I am playing but it does not show any achievments or indeed anything in my activity feed? My activity feed is always dead! I can see online console friends and their achievements/unlocks always come up. I've tried all the settings and the permissions are all ok.
Any ideas? I'm baffled..

It only works for games which are Xbox Live enabled & bought from the Win 10 Store or Xbox1,360 or GFWL enabled Xbox Live games. On PC this is not many games at all. It does not work for anything bought on Steam other than show you played it.
