xbox live is this a joke

You see, every PS3 thread gets infected with xbox 360 fanboyism its ok. One little light hearted comment in a 360 thread and it all goes to pot.
No, it's not okay and thats my point. Xbox360 fanboyism is just as annoying, it all gets a rise out of people and it becomes arguing and bickering and it's annoying.

Having to pay for each profile stops lame cheaters or trashtalkers from creating a profile just to **** of other players

I think its fine the way it is

Well, I think the console itself should be Live enabled when you pay. You should be able to have as many profiles as you want online for one set price. It IS pure greed on the part of Microsoft.

What about a parent that has 3 or 4 kids, they all want to play online with their profile. The cost mounts up, and not everyone is rich. Its a bloody disgrace.

My two bobs worth! :)

How about that parent takes them out instead of having them sitting at home playing a next gen console?
If money is THAT tight don't blow it on the latest gadget and do something more sensible instead.
Failing that give them subs for their Birthdays / Xmas.

OMG it is SO UNFAIR I haven't got the latest console AND a live sub to use with it, what am I going to do ............

Trust me, as a parent, £40 for a sub is peanuts compared to everything else.

I have to agree that £40 for multiple accounts is a little over the top, I do think there should be a reduction in price for multiple accounts on the same machine.

Then again if it is a problem, use one account. Simple.

Cant say i'll lose any sleep mind as I really dont care :p

Seems to me that every parent who has 3-4 kids these days has plenty of money.

I really don't know what some of the people on this thread are on?! You want a service, you pay for it, its that simple. Why not share an account if your on the same xbox as people have said?? You can still have your friends on it, just your brother/sister/dad/gerbils friends will also be on the list, so what?! So your rank might be affected by the other people playing, are you really that bothered?? Its not as if it means anything due to all the cheaters etc.

Complete agree with the people saying that parents should teach their kids a thing or two if they moan that they can't have the latest console AND a live sub out of mummy and daddys pockets.

And lastly, with the sub being linked to the console, good idea in theory, but then you'd get just as many people going 'I've paid £40 for this subscription and I cant even use it on a friends 360!' as i often use my account to play online on others console's.

To sum up, I think its personally reasonable that one subscription is £35, you want more, you pay more, simple!

Whilst I agree with what you're saying, I don't think thats the issue here. I don't have kids myself and I wouldn't dream of telling people how to raise their young-uns, I still think people would be in the position that I described, and I still think the subs per-profile thing is a rip off.

I like your idea of subs as presents etc, and if I ever have kids ( ) I think that would be a nice way to deal with these situations!

Ah well we have 2 kids and we hope to have 2 more maybe 3 more.
We know that cash will be horribly tight if we go that way and as a result my kids are going to have to learn to cope with sharing, not having all the latest kit and worst of all some "hand me downs!".
I think that they will be better people for it.
People today are so incredibly greedy, selfish and so easily angered if they don't get everything their own way.

It is like whne people were profiteering on the Wii, some people were outraged that others had ordered in advance and were taking advantage over peoples willingness to pay over the odds because it is "a Xmas present".
time for a reality check. Xmas present........ are you a serious church goer, a committed christian? Then why is Xmas so important to you? If it isn't then why the big deal over Xmas presents? Can't your kids WAIT. Do they HAVE to have it?
About time parents put their feet down and their kids learnt to be grateful for all the things that they do have instead.

Nowt wrong with hand-me-downs my old son! Learning to share and not be greedy are qualities that all kids should have instilled in them from a young age. It never did me any harm, according to me anyway! ;)

Edit: Just read your edit, and I agree with everything you say!

Greed? In what way? £35 is a perfectly reasonable price to pay for the service that is offered by Xbox Live if you ask me.

And what do you expect... To be able to have unlimited profiles per subscripiton???

Where is the business, or even common sense, in that? My local curry house charges £5.20 for a chicken jalfrezi... should I demand a double portion next time just because me and the other half want to share it??? I think Samir might quite rightly tell me to get tae....

How do you expect someone who can't even spell 'two' to know anything about good business sense  :p

I hated hand-me-downs. They were either from my older SISTER or YOUNGER brother lol.

Oh and the things I said about teaching kids the value of money etc ...... something I need to become better at doing with my kids. I've spoilt my eldest for too long I think.
