not really an xbox man, but a friend has asked me to come and look at her sons one, sounds like it's the ring of death from what she said, so does anyone know if MS are still honouring this, and how do i go about helping her sort this, she's a single mum and i kind of said i would deal with it...

Surely they must know when it was purchased approximatly? Recipt?
As far as im aware you need a recipt for proof of purchase, otherwise they use the serial code to determine the 3 year cut-off from the manufacturered date.
Or thats what happened with my first one anyway.

I had the 3 red rings the other day and the website said my 360 was out of warranty, it was a 01/2006 machine.

Called microsoft up direct and they came good, sent it off, 6 days later a new 360 arrived on my doorstep.

Id give them a call.

LOL. What's being a single mum got to do with it? Does it mean you fix it and she will allow you to get your leg over? :D

i mean she does not have a scooby! and in the sense of leg over no, to old for me (without a drink or too)

My launch Core console packed up a few days ago so I give them a call and see what they say.
