those bundles are a like a soft price gouge, I expect margins are higher on accessories and games so they get bundled in and people will buy due to the shortage. Or do microsoft send them out as bundles?

Not really sure where else to put this and hoping a few people may have done the same.
My brother in law has just got an Xbox for his son (my nephew) and hes set it up so hes the main account and created a 'childs' account for his son, if he wants to buy Xbox Live. Should he login under his user and apply it to his account and then his son will get gold as well so he can play Fortnite etc or do they both need to buy it or?

You both need to buy it. I have my daughter's account in a family on Microsoft so I can control her play time with mine as the lead account. She has her own Xbox so maybe the above is true if just playing on one console.

Ok cheers, that sounds good.

hmm, I am not too sure as you say. Bit of a PITA if I apply to his account and then his son doesn't have it, I don't want to have to buy it again lol.

I might wait for some more responses :D

no, this isnt correct
, you dont both need it if you have multiple consoles - you set one console to home so anyone can use and you log into the other one
We have 2 consoles in the house, sons and mine
His is set to the home console so he can play anytime, i then log into mine , we both share my gold for xbox

I don't think you can play at the same time though online?

you can, as son and I play the same game on gamespass at the same time as well as online

You cannot. Try and play something like black oops together in the same room. When my daughter started playing a lot more we played a lot of cooperative games which requires two accounts. Unless it has changed in the past few years.

Its been like that for years
As I said we have 2 consoles in the house, in different rooms.
I have gold / gamespass under my account. I set my sons console to home, I log into my console in the other room , we both fire up the same games (digitally) and can play at the same time. we recently played destiny 2 together.
So its possible and has been for a long while now

Edit - when you say same room - do you mean on the same console ?

You absolutely can play at the same time, me and my brother have been doing it for years via games on my account only.

This ^^^^

Set the 2nd console to home, then both can share everything and play at the same time. With one gamepass and any other digital games.

I feel kinda bad that I've had the console like 2 days now and apart from about 10mins on AC Ragnarok, I've been playing Skyrim!
Same haha, I've got watch dogs legion on my series x but apart from the fancy reflections there's nothing that's pulling me in, the game feels a bit soulless (much like the original) and apart from Forza Horizon 4 which is still so much fun I'm back playing skyrim and fifa mostly which I was doing nearly 10 years ago.....the next wave of "proper" games can't come soon enough

Couldn't resist, the wired setup I'm using is annoying, at least this works with the xbox wireless protocol and has an xbox button.

I’m really surprised other companies have not offered similar option but at a lower cost, with MS enabling K/B & mouse

at this price range as much as I’d love it I can’t justify £250

I guess it is because I didn't set my daughter's console as home when she first started playing. We are talking something like 7 years now when the one first came out. It seems to be a glitch though as technically if you have friends you can essentially split the price of live in half across the entire world.
