Very few games need to be on internal storage right now. Even with the "Optimised for X|S" games, quite a few are fine on an external drive. The Series S's meagre 360GB is workable for now, so I can't see there being an immediate issue with Series X.

Nab yourself a WD refurb external hard drive. They're dirt cheap (like <£40 for 2TB, check HUKD). Bags of storage for peanuts, and for most games it barely makes no difference outside of loading times.

Yeah I’ve got a load of Gamepass games that aren’t optimised like F1 2020, Fables, and loads of others, the only S/X optimised I have currently are FH4 and Gears 5 which looks stunning on the Series X. So I’ll just offload them onto a external and keep FH4 and GOW 5 on the internal and move them when finished.
 
I kind of said I'd play Hexic HD as a bit of a joke but I ended up spending two hours on it whilst waiting for Jedi Fallen Order to download in the background. Still as great as it was back in 2005. But it looks like I'm going to do Battlefield Bad Company first as I've been wanting to revisit that for aeons.

I did the same with Peggle. Needed an achievement for a GP Quest. Picked Peggle 2 as it's trivially easy to get achievements. Two and a half hours later... :D
 
First game i played on my Series X was Radiant Silvergun, just to check how it ran.
Forgot to check what auto HDR looked like, another excuse to boot it up for an hour or five :D
 
I’m new to the MS Rewards app, is it me or is it a bit janky? It’s not recognising my achievements in EA games for that little bonus nor the five searches in the Bing app. I’ve done a full shutdown for the night and will try again tomorrow.
 
Noticed that with instant on that the fan runs 24/7 on the X. Does anyone disable instant on so the fan actually turns off?

My power setting for Xbox is instant on but at the end of the day, I go into settings and use the Full Shutdown option so it’s off overnight.

I’ve changed it to eco mode, suits me better as I play for a few hours in the evening. Don’t want the fan failing or developing a fault due to running all the time.

I found this a while ago and it seems to be a bug.

While playing gears 5 and putting the Series X into rest mode the fan stays on indefinitely.

Weeks later Once I'd completed the game and exited the game fully my Series X now turns the fan off in standby. So my thinking it's a game related bug.

I swear it never used to, but I’ve noticed the same, even when the X isn’t doing anything in the background. Doesn’t make a huge difference having it on power saving mode other than about 5 seconds more startup time and no remote features.
