You have to buy a Microsoft gift card and then buy the sub with the credit. I guess it works out as a worse deal.
Ok, but you can use your reward points to buy a MS gift card and then put that toward buying GP. Of course, the pricing is such that using that method is less efficient for the consumer.

I think I might do the old thing and buy games again

This subscription society for everything is becoming too much

This, the subscriptions at first were affordable and made sense, but now the prices are just increasing exponentially and we aren't really getting anything extra for our money.

Just had a email Disney + is going up again, netflix has recently gone up, Amazon prime gone up, now Xbox game pass.. wouldn't mind but there isn't a huge choice for pc gaming, much more choice on Xbox, I literally only play the 1 game on game pass and that's Forza Motorsport. I have played the tomb raider games they had in there aswell, but that's about it, certainly not worth the cost each month. I only keep it for my boy and his Xbox, but he doesn't really play it that often and only plays free to play games anyway such as Fortnite, enlisted, war of thunder etc.

Soni might just cancel it

They have made that less desirable due to changes to price of that part as well.

Yet another complete **** up by Microsoft.

It’s sad in a way as the original Xbox and 360 era got so much right then Xbox one arrived and it’s almost been stumble after stumble

Because they swapped out gamers for middle managers and accountants... They lost focus, and the powers that be don't really care, there attitude is to just buy more and more developers, screw them up and shut them down losing even more money in the process. And now their going multi platform what's the point of xbox

im good for a while

honestly, £22.99 a month isn't great.. but its not catastrophically bad, if it was £29.99 a month i'd 100% be cancelling.

Just had a look at the Ubi games they have put on there. What a joke. You'd get most of them off eBay for next to nothing.

I binned Game Pass a while ago, looking to sell my Series X, has only been used as an occasional Blu Ray player for months.

The website that you use to cancel Game Pass subscriptions crashed yesterday because so many people were cancelling  Seems the price rise may be too much for a lot of people and MS have pushed it too far this time.

for me i pay £12.99 a month to have no ads on youtube, £22.99 for 75+ day 1 games a year + the catalogue, rewards, perks and other benefits is still an absolute steal.

I get most don't see the value

I think it depends on how many games you realistically play. Some people buy lots of games but never complete them. Some people just play a couple of games. Some people only play 1 series of games like Forza.

If your someone that has time to play and complete 1 or 2 + games a month, then it is likely pretty good value, but I think for a lot of people it's not worth it.

I pay for the top Netflix package but we watch it almost everyday either a series or a film so it's worth it, I can't say the same for game pass. The few bganes I play on there I could have purchased outright for less than the yearly subscription

One of the other things people are seemingly forgetting is that even with Ultimate you don't get all 'day-one' games. The Outer Worlds 2 is another major release where you have to wait six days until after the 'release' until you can play on Game Pass. Or pay for the £30 premium upgrade.

All I'll say is I'm personally glad I sold the Series X last year and I'm no longer in the Xbox ecosystem (even though ironically I still count as a MAU!).
