Xeon E5640 to 2500k / 3570k worth it?

Seeing how this stuff has come down in price.. my Xeon is clocked in at 4.1ghz, i have a Sapphire Fury Nitro arriving tomorrow and i am thinking of pulling the trigger on a new CPU cooler and a new chassis from OCUK, but is it worth it to change platform?

I will gain some IPC, better instruction sets, but lose Hyper-threading and lower price / perf.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't (even if it was cheap), I'd only switch to a 6 or 8 core.
I will see how the Fury does tomorrow, i have some demanding games i can throw at my CPU.

The XEON has no issues hitting 100FPS easily in GTA V but that's with a GPU that can't enable settings that increase CPU load, though draw distance is maxed out.

EDIT with Sandy and Nehalem at clock for clock settings (4ghz)

Nehalem has basically zero performance loss vs SB-E?

So the machine is overhauled and has been up and running solid and strong, CPU is now at 4300mhz pushing that Xeon even further, i can go higher but right now i just don't have the patience, plus i am enjoying how quite the CPU cooler is in silent mode. Also the memory is running way out of spec but stable.. which is a miracle, Hyper X Fury Blue 8 GB 1600mhz rated at CL11 .. which is bad.. is actually running at 1636mhz CL9 with volts at 1.6.

Picked up a few bits from OCUK, and Amazon, this is how it's looking.

The person i bought the Radeon from actually bought it from OCUK originally, he left his receipt in the packaging lol.

I tested DOOM, when i leave the frame rate to run rampant it easily slides along at 120-155FPS but GPU usage never hit's complete maximum so i do have a very small bottleneck but i am also running the GPU at 1160mhz which puts it near a stock GTX 1070. Usage sit's around 85-90%.

Also the CPU temps you see in the video are with the tiny Noctua ITX cooler not the one i have installed now so they are relatively high. And CPU at 4.1ghz.

I actually cap my FPS since i don't run a high refresh screen anyway but the performance it is putting out is very admirable.

Other games like Deus-EX MD in DX12 run amazingly well.. barely any CPU usage.

Some benchmarks.
