Behind you... Naked!
Right now, due to the fact that I love the 7770 GFX card, I have 2 PCs that are running XFire on these.

One is a pair of Mid-Size Saphires and the other is a pair of Stubby ones. The stubbies are indeed slower than the mid sized ones, but they still run everything I want them to, and thats fine.

I am no longer a heavy gamer, due to disabilities, but, I am a prat who still wants to keep on upgrading.

So, I am looking for a single AMD/ATI card that is about the same performance as both my Mid-Sized Saphire 7770 cards.

I am not looking to spend silly numbers as I said, because in truth, one of the 7770 cards plays every game that I want it to, so xfireing is unnecessary for me, but hey, as I said... LOL

I have nVidia setups and so I ONLY want AMD for my next upgrades on these boxes.

What is your budget?

To be honest, I dont really have a budget as such.

I am almost about to buy a pair of RX460 cards to XFire them, but Im thinking I only need one.

So, I suppose I would say around the 200 mark, but this is VERY flexible.

I dont really want to spend a silly figure of course, but I want to know that whatever I have bought is definitely better than what I had.

I think an RX460 would give you less FPS and a RX470 would give you quite a bit more. If your willing to go for older cards then you could look at something like a 380/280/7950 but you would have to make sure your PSU is sufficient.

Sounds like a single 470 would do you nicely.

PSU is more than enough. Its a 1200w Corsair.

Oh hang on... No, its an 850w in that one... Still should be plenty.

Ok I will have a peek at the range and see what I can yeah? Thanks mate!

A used 7950 boost would be about the performance you are after for next to no money I guess.

Whats the goal / purpose of this system? U just have loads of low end PCs around you house for no real reason?

May I ask what your fascination is towards xfiring lower end cards?

How about a single rx480?

Well its not a fascination as such. The 7770 was a huge leap for me when I had my first one, and I loved it so much, that I bought another one, but then I tried xfiring it and was impressed and so I bought another, but that turned out to be a stubby and so I got another, and I just ended up with a laod of them.

Im xfiring simply because I have the cards, and at the time of my accident, the 7770 was still a massive top end card, but I have simply never needed to upgrade because I can lo longer play most of the games that I want to, such as COD, UT, Doom etc etc, and so since I already have the cards, I might as well stick with them. No fascination at all really.

Yes, I was looking at that myself too! - It does seem the most likely candidate so far.

I also have a 4950 actually.... I think its the 4950... Its a pretty nippy bugger, but suppport is quite rotten now. I have thrown that into my I7-970and it does the job just great under Win7... Id definitely buy another just to xfire them just to see how they go simply cos they are dual GPU.

But yes, a second hand faster card is certainly a possible option. I have of course looked around but Im not happy with the asking of half the cards as I dont really know if they have been clocked or how long they are going to last. If they are going for cheap, then fair enough but when they are asking a high price, Im not willing to risk it.

Again however, its still options to consider.

Whats the goal / purpose?
Erm, no reason realy, as I said, its just really wanting to get better than whats in that system right now, without wasting money.

LOL Almost... I have loads of very high end PCs around the house as I have extended the house and built a LAN room for my kids and their mates and so I have loads of PCs.
They are all mixed spec and no two are the same, and there is both AMD and Intel, and I have tried to have different CPUs and Mobos and everything is as different as the next.

For example, since just about xmas last year, I built my first ever ITX PC and I fell in love and so I have since then built up 7 of them... Admittedly, only 2 are in use fully, the rest are dumped in the attic and one is an I5 hackintosh thats fully running 100% spot on, and the other is my AMD A10 that is now dual purpose as my main Linux machine plus a great footrest cos its in a Black globalwin 130 case ( The Hackintoshis also in a simlar case but the 120 in white )

So yeah, I have some sort of OCD with PCs... It drives the wife crazy, but I buy her enough toys to get her to STFU. Last year I got her a new car so she knows to keep schtum.

LOL

Ok thanks guys... I will have a play about and consider my options before I splash out. Many thanks.
