Hi guys.

Is the XFX 7600GT XXX worth paying for over the other 7600Gt's?

Its £20 more than the normal XFX 7600 GT. I was wondering if the XXX would let you clock the core/ram even more?

Hi

I just got my new XFX 7600GT XXX this morning and all i can say its just amazing i can now play oblivion with everything set to max and 4AA and 18AF and it runs super smooth this card HAS worked really well with my P4 3.60Ghz

I highly recommend getting this card and i am sure if you wanted this card could be OC a little more but for me its just Awesome as it is for the price i paid !!!

LOL never fails to amuse me. Nice slideshow was it? :p

LOL :D :D

I seriously doubt that a 7600 can hack oblivion 1280x1024 at 4xaa 16xaf at max settings. My 7800gt cant really even hack 4xaa 8xaf on that game.

Are you still inside the dungeon at the beginning?

Outside people are having issues with SLI'd 7900GTX's so I am sorry to say I find it hard to believe at those settings your gameplay is smooth.

The card is good but not THAT good.

EDIT: Just realised I hadn't actually answered the OP's question.

I would pay the premium simply because the clocks the card is running at is guaranteed. (Whereas it won't be guaranteed with a slower clocked card).

Back to the original question, I think all XX type of cards are exactly the same as standard cards, but overclocked out of the box, personally I dont think they are worth the premium, as they use the same components, same speed ram etc. They probably have the same top end as standard cards.

i generally agree there, regardless of the guranteed overclock, the standard clocked cards are said to overclock much further.

i got my XFX 7600 GT Exteme Edition from "the other popular online hardware shop" for the same price as the normal XFX 7600 GT @ overclockers

Cool, give us a screeny, I bet your getting about 13fps at 1280x1024 with all the sliders to max and x4 AA. But saying that, if you happy with it, then all is cool, and I bet anything over 5fps would seem amazing compared to your old x600.

Here you go

Yup your spot on there !!! its far better with this card lol

Just realised you don't have HDR running which would really kill your FPS.

Those FPS arn't too bad and I am pleasantly suprised although to me that would be barely playable. (everyone is different of course).

How about some day shots :)

Whats the deal with this game with hdr on and no aliasing? This true?

Is it worth losing aa over hdr?

It would appear that the way the game has been coded HDR and AA is not possible on current gen hardware. The 360 is the only patform where AA and HDR are working together. (possibly down to its totally difference architecture).

If it does work together on the pc I havn't heard of it.

I am lost i have HDR selected and Bloom is OFF and set 4AA on the FX CARD does that not work ?

just checked again HDR is on for sure in the options menu
